Find which level you are!

Please let us know your level of experience before or after your trial. We like to assess students during their first trial to ensure we can provide the best path for their progression.

Our ‘levels’ are group-based and should not be seen as inferior to other groups. They are driven by skill level to ensure that all students are on the right progression track and feel comfortable with their own abilities. This way, they won’t feel intimidated by other students who may have more experience.

The names of our groups are fun and will be used in class to help teachers assign specific choreography, acting roles, and different challenges or vocal ranges for singing.

To progress to the next levels, regular yearly assessments will be conducted at the end of the year and observations throughout the class. Students will participate in a brief one-on-one spoken assessment lasting 5 to 10 minutes, where they will demonstrate their understanding of terminology and demonstrate technical movements (students would of learnt all this prior to assessment). At the end of the year, students will also perform their rehearsed dance with their group at their current level. There is no need to be nervous or worried; these assessments are designed to help your teacher determine whether you are ready to advance to the next level or if you should continue working at your current level on your dance journey.

Age or years of experience alone will not always determine your group placement (though it definitely can assist with your placement). Your teachers will assess your skills and assign you to a group that best matches your abilities. We have found that some students that are younger than the recommended group age may excel at understanding critiques, music, and choreography, or those who do have the experience might actually find that they will be placed in the more advanced group.
